A lot of groups are working to get the vote out this election cycle, and unfortunately many of them are working with inaccurate data. That means you could be a registered voter and receive mail that suggests you aren't registered. The quick and easy way to make sure your voter registration information is up-to-date is to check your information here on this website, or to call us at (813) 744-5900. And take a close look at the mailer. Many include information on how to remove yourself from their mailing list.

VoteHillsborough Student Art Contest

Student artwork is on display at our Elections Service Center May 9 - 13. We are looking forward to recognizing our winners at the Hillsborough County School Board Recognition Meeting on May 17th. Winning artwork will be used in our outreach efforts and seen on posters, our website and social media. They'll also be featured on a million McDonald's bag stuffers, thanks to a partnership with Caspers Company McDonald's. And if playing an important role in our democracy weren't enough, Caspers Company is also donating $100 to the first place artist and $100 to his or her art class. Thank you to everyone who has submitted artwork!

New Voting Equipment

Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer introduces you to new voting equipment that will be in every polling place in Hillsborough County in 2016.

Interested in Adopt A Precinct?

The concept is simple, and powerful. Nonprofits recruit volunteers to be poll workers, and those volunteers donate their Election Day earnings to the nonprofit. Everybody wins with this program. We get terrific poll workers, nonprofits earn much-needed funds, and our community benefits from the work the nonprofits are doing.

Find out more about the program here and contact us if you're interested in joining the program!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: What is a closed primary?
A:  Florida has closed primaries, which means you must be affiliated with a party to vote in that party's election. Our August Primary Election will include Democratic races, Republican races and nonpartisan races (like school board and judges). That means every registered voter will get a ballot, but the ballots will be different depending on party affiliation.

Q: Are Vote By Mail ballots always counted?
A:  Yes. By law, all Vote By Mail ballots are counted. In fact, they are the first votes we report on Election Night.

Q: Why does Hillsborough County publish voting material in English and Spanish?
A:  Hillsborough County is a "covered jurisdiction" under the Language Minority Groups provision of the Voting Rights Act, so we are required by law to publish voting material in both English and Spanish.
