Interested in Adopt A Precinct?

The concept is simple, and powerful. Nonprofits recruit volunteers to be poll workers, and those volunteers donate their Election Day earnings to the nonprofit. Everybody wins with this program. We get terrific poll workers, nonprofits earn much-needed funds, and our community benefits from the work the nonprofits are doing.

Find out more about the program here and contact us if you're interested in joining the program!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: What is a closed primary?
A:  Florida has closed primaries, which means you must be affiliated with a party to vote in that party's election. Our August Primary Election will include Democratic races, Republican races, Libertarian races and nonpartisan races (like school board and judges). That means every registered voter will get a ballot, but the ballots will be different depending on party affiliation.

Q: Are Vote By Mail ballots always counted?
A:  Yes. By law, all Vote By Mail ballots are counted. In fact, they are the first votes we report on Election Night.

Q: Why does Hillsborough County publish voting material in English and Spanish?
A:  Hillsborough County is a "covered jurisdiction" under the Language Minority Groups provision of the Voting Rights Act, so we are required by law to publish voting material in both English and Spanish.

Here's what our Supervisor of Elections and some of our staff thought about being the first elections office to earn the prestigious Governor's Sterling Award.
