Key Staff

Peg Reese, Chief of Staff  

Peg Reese manages a core group of 36 employees charged with the task of enabling Hillsborough County citizens to participate in our democracy through fair and accessible elections. Her staff expands nearly tenfold leading up to an election and multiplies by a hundred once poll workers have been hired for Early Voting and Election Day. Before joining the Supervisor of Elections Office in 2009, Ms. Reese was the executive director of Mary Lee's House, a child protection and advocacy center in Tampa. Ms. Reese began her career in government, as a legislative aide in the New York State Assembly and as Assistant Chief of Staff for Health and Human Services for the Suffolk County (NY) Executive. From 1992 to 2006, she lived and worked in New Orleans as a staff attorney for Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, executive director for UNITY for the Homeless and executive director of the Literacy Alliance of Greater New Orleans.  She also taught undergraduate and graduate courses in public policy at Tulane University and the University of New Orleans.  Previously licensed to practice law in New York State and Louisiana, Ms. Reese is presently licensed to practice law in Florida.  She holds a J.D. from the City University New York School of Law and a B.A. in liberal arts from the New School for Social Research in New York.       

 

Angeline Cunningham, Director of Operations and Support Services
Angeline Cunningham joined the Supervisor of Elections Office in June of 2002, and her extensive experience in all aspects of running elections and serving voters in our county is critical to the management position she now holds.  Prior to her appointment as Director of Operations and Support Services in 2013, Ms. Cunningham oversaw Vote By Mail operations and Early Voting, voting methods that were used by 62% of registered voters during the 2012 General Election.  She also established and implemented multi-faceted training programs for Election Day and Early Voting poll workers, who served our voters well in 2012 thanks to that preparation.  Ms. Cunningham’s experience and expertise also includes voter registration database management, eligibility and list maintenance.  Ms. Cunningham is a 12½ year resident of the Tampa Bay area who lived abroad for much of her childhood. 

 

Lyle A. Roberts, Director of Community Services

Lyle Roberts is responsible for all community outreach efforts throughout this county. From voter registration drives to school programs to poll worker recruitment efforts, Mr. Roberts is instrumental in our ability to educate and engage citizens in the elections process. Mr. Roberts joined the Supervisor of Elections Office in October of 2009 as the Elections Coordinator and was later assigned to be Director of Operations in May of 2011.  Prior to working with the Elections Office, Mr. Roberts worked for 35 years in law enforcement.  He began his career with the Florida Highway Patrol and after six years changed employment to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.  Mr. Roberts retired from the Sheriff’s Office as Lieutenant, finishing his career as a supervisor in the Criminal Investigations Division.  One of his proudest accomplishments was assisting with the transition of Child Protective Investigations from the Department of Children and Families to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.  Mr. Roberts served on the Board of Directors for The Spring of Tampa Bay and was an Executive Board Member of the Family Justice Center of Hillsborough County.  Mr. Roberts is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a B.A. and a M.A. in education.

 

Andrew W. Alexandre, Director of Financial Operations/HR
Since January 2009, Andrew Alexandre has directed the financial functions of the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office. Before joining the Elections Office, Mr. Alexandre worked for the State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).  During his last ten years with DJJ, Mr. Alexandre was Chief of Administrative Services and responsible for development and implementation of budgets up to $170 million.  He also directed all administrative functions within the Central Region.  Mr. Alexandre started out by serving in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1966, and was honorably discharged.  He then graduated from the University of Tampa with a B.S. in sociology.  Mr. Alexandre is originally from New York City.

 

David Marquez, Elections Technology Manager
David Marquez joined the Elections Office in 2013 and is responsible for ensuring that the technical aspects of our elections run smoothly for voters in Hillsborough County. As the person who oversees all election technology, equipment and processes, Mr. Marquez is involved in equipment testing, ballot design, vote tabulation and reporting, and more for the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office. Mr. Marquez is an expert in information technology, with a specialization in privacy and security issues, as well as call center management. He retired from the U.S. Navy as Chief Petty Officer in 2005, where he was responsible for telecommunications technology in the Pacific.  He later served as Director of IT Infrastructure for Corinthian Colleges, maintaining the security and privacy of information systems, communication lines and equipment, as well as providing IT support for three call centers. Mr. Marquez has been sharing his information systems and cyber-security expertise online and in the classroom as an adjunct computer science instructor at Hillsborough Community College, Everest University and ITT Technical Institute. He also serves as assistant den leader for Cub Scout Pack 603 in Riverview. Mr. Marquez attended Hawaii Pacific University, where he earned a B.S. in computer science and an M.S. in information systems.

 

Gerri Kramer, Communications Manager
Gerri Kramer joined the Supervisor of Elections Office as Communications Manager in February of 2013.  Her primary responsibility is to make sure Hillsborough County citizens have a clear understanding of what they need to do to register and vote, and she’s using social media, traditional media outreach, direct emails and more to share information from the Supervisor of Elections Office with the public. She also oversees internal communication with permanent staff as well as temporary employees, poll workers, non-profits and others who share in the huge effort that goes into running elections in Hillsborough County. Before joining the Supervisor of Elections Office, Ms. Kramer handled similar communications tasks for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay and Congregation Rodeph Sholom. Prior to that, she worked as a senior writer/producer and account manager for DWJ Television, a broadcast public relations and video production company.  Ms. Kramer is on the Board of the Wilson Middle School Foundation and serves as a mentor through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.  She holds a B.A. in public policy from Duke University.
